Vehicle Rollover Traps Driver In Westchester, Leaves Car Stuck On Side

A vehicle rollover crash in Westchester left a driver stuck inside until crews could remove the roof of the car. 

A rollover crash in Harrison on Cottage Avenue left a car perched on its side and required the roof to be removed so crews could rescue the driver.

The crash happened on Wednesday, Aug. 2 just before 11:45 p.m., when firefighters were sent to a rollover crash in Harrison at the intersection of Purchase Street and Cottage Avenue. 

According to the Purchase Fire Department, as soon as firefighters arrived at the crash scene, they began efforts to extricate the driver and stabilize the car, which had ended up on its side between a guardrail and trees. 

After crews were able to remove the roof to get access to the driver, they were extricated and taken to a local hospital by Harrison EMS.
